We are pleased to be able to provide you with an overview of our recent actions, which are evolving at lightning speed. Just a few months ago, certain issues seemed complex to move forward. Today, not only are the doors opening, but the requests are pouring in. The notoriety and recognition of the QKF are increasing exponentially. This progress is not the result of chance. They are guided by our 2024-2027 strategic planning, which is based on three main directions: educating key players, retaining our members and professionalizing the profession. Let’s take a look at some of our recent accomplishments through this prism.

1. Education of key players

We have taken concrete steps to establish the credibility of kinesiologists in decision-making and scientific circles. Let us think in particular:

• To the letters of support we have written for major projects in childhood obesity, health, well-being at work and more.
  Our participation in consultations and events related to the national health prevention strategy, at the invitation of the MSSS, which bring together key players in the system to collectively shape the future of public health in Quebec.
• Our participation in ministerial consultations as part of the development of the very first Government policy for integrated primary care and services, which proposes a long-term vision and aims for significant transformations of the ecosystem of primary care and services. 
  To our collaboration on the project with the Portneuf Seniors Table, Bouger, c’est rajeunir de l’intérieur (Moving is rejuvenating from the inside), which continues to demonstrate our value on the ground with seniors.

These initiatives strengthen our voice in the health system and demonstrate our ability to influence public policy.

2. Loyalty of our members

Our desire to create tangible value for our members is achieved in several ways:

• The launch of a new member benefit: free and unlimited access to Medline and SportDiscus scientific databases via myEBSCO, in collaboration with the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance.
• The co-organization of a webinar with the Order of Dietitian Nutritionists of Quebec (ODNQ) on nutritionist-kinesiologist dyads, which generated great enthusiasm.
• The awarding of scholarships and the promotion of the FKQ among the next generation.

Our community is more engaged than ever and the impact is palpable.

3. Professionalization

It is probably on this axis that our progress is the most visible and the fastest:

• We were present at the First Line Health Conference, a flagship event of the network, where we had strategic discussions with several professional orders.
• We held high-level meetings with ministerial cabinets, notably the Dubé Cabinet, to discuss our role in the front line, prevention, home care and, of course, the authorization of stress tests.
• And, we have completed phase 1 of consultations for the project aimed at maximizing the contribution of kinesiologists within the health and social services network of the file for expanding professional practices.
• We met the team of the Physical Health Diagnostic Committee which represents an element of the project to expand professional practices, led by the Ministry of Health and Social Services, in order to highlight the relevance of the kinesiologist in interdisciplinary health.

These results, as encouraging as they are, do not exist without the entire community. Let us therefore thank all those who participate in these meetings, who sit, who reread, who build bridges, who respond to emails late at night or who speak on behalf of our profession.
